Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan Update for 2026

The City of Kenmore is updating its Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan. The current PROS plan was adopted in 2020 and the update will be completed by February 2026. The Plan update will reflect changing recreation trends, demographic context, and community interests in the city.

The PROS Plan provides a framework for future development of the parks system and recreation facilities and programs over the next 20 years. The Plan identifies and categorizes existing conditions, evaluates the context of the city and the community it serves, analyzes the demand and need for parks and recreation facilities, and recommends improvements to the parks system to meet the future needs of the community. Both short and long-term improvements are considered, as well as potential funding and implementation of the proposed improvements over time.

Waterfront Activities & Camps - Year Round

Kenmore Waterfront Activity Center

(KWAC) is a local non-profit group partnering with the City of Kenmore to provide a strong, hand-powered watercraft community. All ages* and all levels of experience are welcome. Weekly program times vary. Each club offers free trial time. (*Under 18 requires adult permission/waiver and each program may require adult to stay onsite.)

The Kenmore Waterfront Activities Center offers canoe, kayak and SUP storage at Tl’ awh-ah-dees Park for a nominal fee. This service is provided on a 6 month basis and can be renewed for up to two years at which time you must resubmit your request. It’s asked you store nothing longer than 17 feet and it must fit with less than 1 foot of overhang on a rack.

Kenmore Community Rowing Club

Kenmore Community Rowing Club provides an inclusive rowing programs for all ages and skill levels, including Junior crew (age 12+), Adult Learn-to-Row, and Adult (“Masters”) Novice and Experienced rowing. Click here to visit their website and see what programs are currently available.

What's Up Stand-Up Paddle and Surf

WhatsSup operates seasonally at Log Boom Park from late spring to early fall offering stand up paddleboards and kayak rentals, lessons and year-round boat storage. For more information visit www.whatssup.net

Kayak Rentals: WhatsSup offers single and double (two person) kayak rentals. Our kayaks are great for two adults and one toddler 5 years or younger. We offer a variety of kayaks - sit-on-tops are the most popular: easy to get in and out! We supply the paddles, PFD's (30 lbs and over) for all rentals, and, of course, instruction.Must be 18+ years or older to rent. Under 18 parent must accompany minor on the water.

SUP/Paddle Board Rentals: (PFD) Personnel Floatation Device, paddle, leash are included with rental. One person only allowed on a paddle board.

Kenmore Kayak Storage, you can store your paddle craft with starting at just $1.00 per day with a one year contract plus WA sales tax. Easy access in our fenced in storage area available dawn to dusk.

In addition to our storage services, Kenmore Kayak Storage offers take away rentals. Our take away rentals can be used on any calm river or lake, as our paddle craft are designed for only calm waters.

After having a great time on the water, have lunch, dinner and refreshments at 192 Tap room or Copperworks located on the property!

Kenmore Boat Launch

The City of Kenmore is very fortunately located on the north end of Lake Washington, and is therefore a hub for waterfront activities for people of all ages. Kenmore also features one of the only state-owned boat launches on North Lake Washington, open year-round. This is a Life Jacket Loaner Station location.

Kenmore Senior Center

The Kenmore Senior Center is a branch of the Northshore Senior Center. Programs, classes and memberships are available to any adult over age 18yrs.

Northshore Senior Center locations include Bothell, Kenmore and Mill Creek, offering health clinics, a variety of art, craft, and learning classes, social clubs and games, a computer lab, special events, wellness projects, food access programs, social and mental health services and trips galore.

2026 Recreation Programs & Camps

Nature Walks at Wallace Swamp Creek

Join Volunteer and nature lover Linda Phillips for a guided tour that explores two miles of paved and primitive trails through the 25-acre park. Tours focus on plants and animals found in the park. Rain or shine!

All are welcome! meet at the kiosk at Wallace Swamp Creek Park parking lot. Children must be accompanied by a parent. Service animals only.

Skyhawks - Registration for 2026, Ages 4-12, at Rhododendron Park

Skyhawks Sports Academy provides sport programs where children discover and develop athletic skills and social values, such as teamwork, respect and sportsmanship.

Skate Like A Girl - Registration for 2026 Opens in February 2026

Skate Like a Girl camps are a space for young people to use skateboarding as a tool for creativity, self-exploration, community and having pure fun. They incorporate learning to skateboard through discussion and practice of life lessons and themes; such as Self Confidence, Humility, being Radical, Equity and Determination.

Our skate instructors are equipped to get you rolling with the basics of pushing and cruising, or take your existing skills to new heights in a safe and welcoming space.

NORTH LAKE LITTLE LEAGUE

Registration for 2026 is open now. Ages 4-17.

Season begins March 2026.

Late registration begins Jan. 31, 2026.

North Lake Little League is a non-profit organization serving over 600 children ages 4 through 16 residing in the Kenmore, Bothell and Brier area, or attending schools within our league boundaries. Kenmore teams practice and play at Moorlands Park Ballfield, 15401 84th Ave NE, Kenmore.

NLLL league offers a fun, supportive, instructional and competitive experience for all youth.

Programs focus on the development of baseball and softball skills, sportsmanship, and fostering a love for the game. North Lake Little League is chartered by Little League International and is a member of Washington's District 8.

Hilltoppers Garden Club - Kenmore

Hilltoppers have a long, proud history of community involvement and striving for excellence in all things related to flowers, gardening, conservation, involvement in schools, and protecting our environment. The club has been so successful because of the effort that every member happily contributes.

Meetings are held at Northlake Lutheran Church, 6620 NE 185th St, Kenmore, on the First Thursdays, 9:30am, Septermber through June.

UW Bothell provides many socio-ecological free events for all ages at St. Edward State Park, Kenmore, and online.
